From 7th June until the 1st of July, years 5 & 6 took part in the Fiver Challenge. The Fiver Challenge is an initiative by Richard Branson, supported by Virgin money to promote entrepreneurship in young people. It is a fun and engaging project that provides young people with a pledge of £5. The young people were challenged to set up a mini business to create products, provide a service (or both) that they could then sell at a profit, whilst engaging with their local community. The Fiver Challenge introduced the pupils to the world of enterprise and helped build important employability skills, such as risk taking, team working, problem solving, communication and financial literacy, which they can continue to develop in later life. As a class, the children raised over £700 - quite an achievement.
